Dear Families,
We had a wonderful first full week of school! Students had bus safety class with Miss Wilkinson, Mrs. Geary, and Officer Schneider this week. We reviewed how to safely ride this bus and even practiced by getting on the bus (when weather permitted).
Thanks again to everyone for their efforts during our Tornado Warning on Tuesday. Everyone worked together and helped keep the students calm and safe.
This upcoming week we have our first eLearning Day. Be sure your child has their iPad charged. Teachers will practice how to access their assignments prior to our eLearning Day so that students know what to do. If you have any questions or encounter any issues with your child's assignment, please reach out to their teacher so they can help troubleshoot. Reminder that your child will receive an UNEXCUSED ABSENCE if they do not complete their assignment by 8:00 AM the following day.
Over the next two weeks we will be administering our beginning of the year assessments in Reading and Math. For Reading we utilize the mCLASS test and for Math we utilize the USNS from Forefront. 2nd Grade students will also take the NWEA test in both Reading and Math. Please make sure your child is well rested, on time, and has a good breakfast so they do their best on the tests.
Lastly, if you utilize the car tag system, please practice your child's number with them. We call numbers one digit at a time. For example, if your number is 523, we would call, "Five-two-three." By practicing your child's number with them, you are helping us to help car tag move more efficiently. Thank you!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Yours in Education,
